My short film Rumah Ketigaku (My Third Home) is out!
This film has been a labor of love, created in partnership with our Indonesian migrant friends in Hong Kong and Bethune House Migrant Women's Refuge—a true home away from home for migrants in distress. Made through the Story Fellowship Program in collaboration with New Naratif and BEBESEA, the film follows an Indonesian migrant domestic worker as she navigates family separation, a labor dispute, and her fight for justice—finding solace and solidarity in a migrant shelter.

As part of the Story Fellowship Program, I also took part in a Q&A, where I share the heart behind the film and what I’ve learned from spending time with migrants in Hong Kong and the residents of Bethune House.

Thank you for your support on this journey. My hope is that this film will offer migrants the chance to see themselves and have their dignity recognized on screen. I also hope it sparks deeper conversations—especially for audiences in Hong Kong and beyond—about the realities of migration and how we can stand in solidarity with migrant communities.
I’ll be submitting this short to film festivals as a way to share it with global audiences, but I’d also be happy to have it screened by grassroots groups, churches, universities or other communities who might be interested.
📢 If you are interested in hosting a screening, please reach out by email or with the button below.
While we continue spreading the word about the short film, the next steps also include working on the larger documentary, which will incorporate Rumah Ketigaku (My Third Home) and additional footage from Hong Kong, Indonesia, and the Philippines. I look forward to sharing more updates about Rumah Ketigaku and the progress of the larger film. Thanks again for your support!
